While music writers can’t resist prefacing the words “new release” with “highly anticipated,” in the case of Danish electropunk-pop duo Reptile Youth, this particular journalistic cliché is warranted.

Creating sparks at international music festivals as the band with no record, then fueling the fire by unleashing Speeddance and Black Swan Born White, Reptile Youth have now teamed up with producer Dave M. Allen (The Cure, Sisters of Mercy) and mixer Marc Ralph (Hot Chip) to craft the hot debut we’ve all been waiting for.

Of their newest single and video for the “catchy-as-all-fuck” Shooting Up Sunshine,  singer Mads Damsgaard offers: “[It's] a song about being so overcome by happiness that it completely overshadows everything else in life. Happiness feels fantastic in the entire body and can be triggered during the making of a song, milestones in life or simply just sex and drugs.”

The summery, oozing-with-sex clip is directed by Jacques Magazine founder Jonathan Leder and stars Alyona Shishmareva. Look for Reptile Youth to hit September 24th via HFN Music.
