Described as “equal parts Django Reinhardt, Tom Waits, and a night out drinking and dancing with friends” (Under The Radar), Noah Lit’s Noah and the Megafauna features an honest-to-goodness 10-piece, acoustic gypsy-jazz ensemble and is produced by Adam Lasus (Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Yo La Tengo) on new LP, Anthem For A Stateless Nation.

The liner notes of the record contain almost as many names as the closing credits of the new Avengers movie with additional production by Joe Rogers (Kelli Scarr, The Shivers), gypsy guitar by Gonzalo Bergara, drums courtesy Steve Ferrone (Tom Petty and the Heart Breakers, George Harrison), and guest crooners Kat Edmonson, Marianne Dissard, Emily St. Amand-Poliakoff and Mindy Gaspar.

Lead track On an On serves as a fitting introduction to the “musical caravan” that is Anthems For A Stateless Nation is available now as a free download via Soundcloud.

Of the bubbly track’s deceptively dark, apocalyptic theme, Lit offers: “It’s a song about living with awful decisions and being choked by regret. I’ve always been really into apocalyptic literature. While writing Anthems I was reading Margaret Atwood’s Oryx and Crake, and Year of the Flood, Max Brooks’ World War Z, and Moby Dick – which is the ultimate story of the end of the world, as both Wall Street and the polar ice caps were melting down.”
