Deer Tick have announced their own summer music festival, DudeSmash, to take place Saturday, June 16, 2012 at The Met Courtyard in their hometown of Providence.
According to the band, the seed for DudeSmash was planted band during a traffic jam. “Stuck in bumper-to-bumper, we made a joke that this must be the traffic for the new Bro-Metal festival, ‘DudeSmash’. The five of us vowed that if we were ever to curate a festival, no matter the nature of the event, we would name it after that joke, subjecting all of our fans to our misguided sense of humor.”
The DudeSmash lineup, curated by Deer Tick themselves, features Rhode Island-based bands in addition to other select acts from from around the U.S. In their own words, the festival promises to be “a magical day of food, drink, music, and most importantly, dude smashing.”
