Dead Leaf Echo prove there’s a softer side to NYC with their dreamy, forthcoming split 7-inch, Act of Truth/Slowness.

Hitting June 26 via Greenfuse Records, the 7-inch features Sean Eden from Luna and serves as the precursor to their debut LP, Thought & Language, scheduled for release sometime this year. As promising evidence of things to come, the LP is mixed by John Fryer (4AD, NIN, Lush) and made beautiful with artwork by Vaughan Oliver (Pixies, Bauhaus).

Dead Leaf Echo have built a following by touring with the reunited Chapterhouse in 2010, A Place to Bury Strangers and Trail Of the Dead in 2011, then with The Wedding Present and Japanther earlier this year.

Don’t let their dream-pop ways fool you, however, as H Magazine reports: “Words like ethereal, atmospheric and dreamy all come to mind…and while all these descriptions are apt (and have been used repeatedly in other Dead Leaf Echo reviews), it’s safe to say that the band could similarly be described as heavy, raucous – or simply, loud-as-fuck.”
